The feel of the snow that was wrapped around each hoof was one full of bone chilly wonder and cold, it was like being in a whole new experience. The wind blew through the mountain pass, a right audit flicked to listen for any sounds that would travel up the path she had taken. Hearing none the blind witch walked on, a dark sense settled in her belly; for nothing good would last in this place. Not if she had her way that was, a bone chilling smile touched the dark lips of the doe. Yes, soon there will be fear traveling through the herds, once she had her way. Since she couldn’t Fawn had found a way to tell when it was growing dark, she concentrated on the fine hairs that trailed on her spine, hairs, that were highly sensitive to the changes of the wind and temperature.
Turning down a path through the snow she stopped as the guard hairs stiffened, immediately she began to twitch her ears listening. She would have missed the sounds of something following her if she didn’t hear the change of wind rolling around an object behind her. ‘Oh this will be delicious’ she thought and started to use her injured back leg like it was newly paining her. Limping down the path she only had a moments notice of a hiss before she heard the sound of a large paw slap the snow, springing forward Fawn tore down the path with renewed speed. Which was impressive due to her leg, tearing through the snow like her life depended on it, which it did, the doe was racing down the slope with a mountain cat hot on her hooves. It was like she was a newborn again running after her mother to escape such predators, yet the animals that hunted her never expected to become the hunted. Taking a sharp left she leveled out on a fresh trail, her wings rose from her back and she began to beat the air furiously. The longer she ran the more her legs would grow heavy, she placed her tiny hooves into the snow only to tumble. ‘Damn’ she felt the hot curve of claws slide into the skin of her tail, she lashed out with her back hooves and heard the dull thwack of it connecting with the cats nose. The cat shrieked and swiped at her and missed, for the blind doe was off again.
She bunches her haunches under her legs and fired herself to jump straight up, she pulled her wings down and soon she was soaring through the sky. She heard the scream of the cat as it’s prey flew away, literally. Smiling to herself she tucked in her wings and turned her body as it fell, barreling down at the cat she kicked out with her hooves and landed on its back. It was so surprised at this turn of events that she managed to sank her venom coated fangs into the creatures neck, she began to tear into the flesh as the cat began to dance across the snow. Warm blood sprayed onto her pelt and she let out a curse when the cat twisted around enough to claw her leg, bleating in rage she sank her teeth into the base of the skull and bit down as hard as she could. While pummeling the cat with her back hooves, she let go long enough to slam her front hopes down with frightening strength into the skull. The cat made a croaking sound and fell, breathing hard Fawn stood over the body and it was then she noticed more scrapes and deep claw marks across her fur and skin. Snorting she stepped off the body and gave a final victory kick to the dead cats face, now that this was finally over she could relax and smile. It had only been a year ago when she noticed that meat was more delicious than she expected, she was fully carnivorous she just chose to eat meat when greens were hard to come by. Pawing the snow she used her front left hoof to cut at the soft belly.
Once she had eaten enough that she could she walked away, carrying a rid of the mountain cat in her mouth. Trotting to the cave she had made hers, she stamped her hooves on the stone floor and walked inside. If she could see she would have been proud of the contents of the cave, a massive pile of pelts lay in a spacious corner. A natural shelf of stone had several herbs, bones and leaves laying on it including a small dip in the stone where water dripped into. Beside her bed was a clay jar, carefully made and wide, holding an assortment of bones within it. Before she could walk further a large croaking caw reaches her ears, a large crow flew down and landed on her back. Running his beak through the blood fur of her hide, she walked over and set the bone into the bowl. Moving to her pelts she settled down and let the crow groom her, she didn’t need her eyes to know the bird was eating the bits of skin that cling to her from the attack. Nor did she need to tell the bird to get a particular clay bowl that held soothing plants for wounds, awhile later she heard the sound of the bowl being set on the furs followed by the soft clicks of the beak being coated in the plant.
She slept through the packing of her wounds, by the time she woke she knew it was night. “My plan will be coming to fruition soon, Nava. Will you help?” The crow croaked and she smiled darkly.
OOC: Fawn has some truly creepy plans that will be coming to light soon, I’d like to run this by staff before I do anything more with her plans. @Jahi > for the question of course
